The 2024 U.S. Recreational Boating Statistical Abstract: Total Boat Registrations Report is now available for member download. The report covers total boat registrations by use and region. Last year, registered and documented boats totaled 11.8 million, representing more than three-quarters of the fleet. Estimated non-registered and non-documented boats reached 3.6 million.
Florida led the nation with 1.2 million boat registrations, 10% of total U.S. registrations and a 26.9% year-over-year increase, while the Great Lakes states collectively represented nearly one-quarter of the fleet. The South Atlantic region grew 12.4% to 2.2 million boats, strengthening its position as the second-largest region.
