U.S. Exports and Imports 2024 Report Highlights Growth in Key Segments

The Boat and Engine Exports and Imports section of NMMA’s 2024 U.S. Recreational Boating Statistical Abstract is now available for member download, with a comprehensive look at marine trade flows and shifts in global demand for American-made products.

The 2024 report examines recent and historical trade data on the different categories of recreational boats and marine engines imported to and exported from the U.S.

Last year, total U.S. recreational boat and engine exports reached $2.4 billion, while imports climbed to $4.2 billion, closing the year with a $1.8 billion trade deficit. Boats accounted for $1.9 billion in exports, supported by strong demand for inboard, sterndrive, and personal watercraft, while engines contributed $568.2 million, with outboards making up more than 80 percent of export value.
