2018 Statistical Abstract: Sailboat Sales Trends Report Now Available

The second section of NMMA’s 2018 U.S. Recreational Boating Statistical AbstractSailboat Sales Trends report, is now available in the Statistics section of NMMA.org

The 2018 Sailboat Sales Trends report includes production and retail unit sales data; export unit sales by length; import unit sales by length; estimated total annual retail sales; and, retail sales by length. Production and average price information was provided by Cruising World and Sailing World magazines of the Bonnier Corporation

Compared to 2017, sailboat sales were up 18 percent in 2018 to the highest unit volume in four years, primarily reflecting a rebound in sales of smaller sailboats less than 12’. Imports of sailboats into the U.S. were also up 34 percent in 2018.

NMMA members receive unlimited complimentary access to the digital versions of each section of the Statistical Abstract as they become available, in addition to the full compilation report, which will be released in July. This report is the most comprehensive collection of industry data and a trusted source for recreational boating statistics.
