NMMA to Co-Host 2026 California Boating Congress April 28-29

The 2026 California Boating Congress, sponsored by the Marine Recreation Association and co-hosted by the NMMA, is scheduled for April 28 and 29 in Sacramento. The California Boating Congress brings together industry stakeholders and leaders from across the marine industry and boating community to discuss boating and industry policy. 
This year’s event kicks off on Tuesday, April 28 with hearing about key policy developments in the legislature. April 29 will feature a full day of advocacy and policy sessions, including the opportunity to hear from several legislators and regulators on their top priorities, including the state’s efforts to combat aquatic invasive species particularly the Golden MusselOf key importance is protecting access to public waters for all to enjoy. 
 
Robert Newsome, NMMA’s Chief Administrative Officer & Senior Vice President, Operations, will present new data detailing the economic impact of the state’s recreational boating industry, including jobs and businesses supported by the industry.

Alongside the NMMA, the event is co-hosted by several other industry and boating community groups, including the California Association of Harbor Masters and Port Captains, California Yacht Brokers Association, Recreational Boaters of California, California Marine Affairs and Navigation Conference, Boat U.S., California Delta Chambers & Visitors Bureau, Sacramento Valley Marine Association, and Coastal Conservation Association of California (CCA-CAL).
