NMMA Advances Boating Priorities at Utah Outdoor Recreation Day

NMMA reinforced priorities around boater access, recreation infrastructure, and competitiveness in marine manufacturing with Utah lawmakers and agency leaders earlier this month at the Utah Outdoor Recreation Day at the State Capitol. The event provided a valuable forum to elevate the role of recreational boating within the state’s broader outdoor economy and to advocate for policies that support safe, sustainable waterway use.

Recreational boating is an important part of Utah’s economy. It supports 3,700 jobs and 143 businesses statewide, serving nearly 68,000 registered boats. Boating generates $1.2 billion in annual economic impact in Utah.

Throughout the day, NMMA highlighted the industry’s economic contributions and the importance of maintaining strong partnerships that keep Utah’s boating businesses and communities thriving.

NMMA’s participation underscored the importance of the recreational boating industry maintaining strong relationships across state governments and working collaboratively to ensure our industry remains an integral part of Utah’s outdoor recreation and economic future.
