NMMA Members Meet with Rep. Mike Collins
As part of NMMA’s continued advocacy efforts following the 2025 American Boating Congress (ABC), a group of NMMA leaders visited Capitol Hill last week to meet with Congressman Mike Collins (GA-10)—a committed supporter of American boat building and outdoor recreation.
The NMMA delegation included Jeff Wasil, Vice President of Environmental Compliance and Marine Technology; John McKnight, Environmental Health and Safety Technical Advisor; Robyn Boerstling, Senior Vice President of Government Relations; Kemba Solomon, Regulatory and Technical Affairs Director at Yamaha Marine USA; and Jonathan Godfrey, Engineering Technical Expert for composites at Regulator Marine.
During the meeting, the group discussed the strength and scope of the recreational boating industry, which supports over 800,000 American jobs and generates $230 billion in annual economic impact. They emphasized the industry's leadership in advanced manufacturing, the importance of maintaining boater access to public waters, and the need for balanced, science-based regulatory policies that support continued innovation and competitiveness.
Congressman Collins, who serves on the House Transportation & Infrastructure, Natural Resources, and Science, Space, and Technology Committees, reiterated his support for the recreational marine industry.
This visit reflects NMMA’s ongoing commitment to building strong relationships with federal lawmakers and ensuring that the voice of the recreational boating industry is heard in Washington.
Thank you to our members for their continued leadership and commitment to advocacy.
