NMMA Joins MRAA, Lake Havasu Marine Association for Legislator Event
Earlier this month, NMMA, alongside the Marine Retailers Association of the Americas (MRAA) and the Lake Havasu Marine Association, jointly hosted a legislator event in Lake Havasu City, Ariz.
The event kicked off with MRAA member, Just 4 Fun Powersports, hosting a pontoon ride for Arizona State Representative Leo Biasiucci (R-30), a Lake Havasu City native who represents the area in the Arizona House of Representatives. During the tour, the group was able to talk about boating’s legislative priorities, including education and infrastructure. Lake Havasu City is a popular boating destination in Arizona with its Congressional District contributing $195.4 million in annual economic impact, supporting 1,041 jobs and 119 businesses.
From there, the event moved indoors with Lake Havasu City Mayor Cal Sheehy, members of the Lake Havasu City Council and Chamber of Commerce, Mohave County Sheriff Department Officers, and local boat dealers. Attendees discussed city and state and opportunities for recreational boating infrastructure.
