What to Expect for 2023 Model Year Updates, Including New Electrification Standards

Introduction of new model year products for 2023 are well underway, with boat manufacturers able to introduce new model year products as early as June 1 through July 31.

Ahead of the implementation deadline, the NMMA has outlined what to expect for the 2023 Model Year updates, including new electrification standards. As the industry looks to the future, with consideration of next generation propulsion systems and electrification, it’s imperative boat manufacturers are up to date with changes to the recreational industry standards.

The American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC) will be publishing the Standards and Technical Information Reports for Small Craft, Supplement 62 on July 31, 2022. Included in this supplement are more than 15 standard updates along with 3 new standards.
