U.S. Marine Manufacturers Exploring Australian Market

The 52nd edition of the Sydney International Boat Show opened today and for the first time features a USA Pavilion. Fifteen NMMA members representing leading U.S. equipment, component and boat manufacturers are exhibiting at the Pavilion as they explore new partners in Australia for distribution or supply to the local boatbuilding and marina market.

“There is a lot of potential in Australia,” said Julie Balzano, senior export director for the NMMA. “With more than 9 percent growth in exports for 2018, Australia remains our industry’s third largest export market. What’s more, since Australia is not impacted by the trade war, as members map out their export strategy, they’re looking at this market for new opportunities and growth.”

The pavilion is organized by NMMA’s Export Development program. Given the Pavilion’s significance for US manufacturers, officials from the states of Florida and North Carolina, as well as the U.S. Department of Commerce, are in Sydney the duration of the show to support this new initiative.

The USA Pavilion will host nearly 100 industry stakeholders for a Cheers & Beers networking reception
