NMMA’s New Powerboat Registrations Report has been updated through July 2017, and advance data show new powerboat registrations were up 6.1 percent year-over-year (YOY) for the rolling twelve-month (R12M) period through July.
Highlights from the report include:
- All boat segments were up through July (R12M YOY). Growth in registrations was led by the following segments: jet boats (up 10.9 percent), tow boats (up 9.5 percent), personal watercraft (up 9.4 percent), pontoons (up 7.7 percent), cruisers (up 7 percent) and saltwater fishing boats (up 6.8%).
- Outboards boats, which represent 65 percent of total new powerboat sales, were up 5.5 percent in registrations.
- Larger boats 27’ and greater, were up 10.3 percent through July (R12M YOY).
