On Friday, January 8, NMMA President, Thom Dammrich, NMMA Chairwoman, Joan Maxwell, and New York Boat Show Manager, Jon Pritko joined Progressive Insurance Boat Product Manager, Rick Stern, along with executives from NMMA member companies exhibiting at the show, to ring the New York Stock Exchange Closing Bell in celebration of the Progressive Insurance New York Boat Show®. NMMA member companies that participated in the bell ringing included Azimut, Boston Whaler, MarineMax, Mercury Marine, Regulator Marine, Sailfish, Scout Boats, and SeaRay. The ringing of the bell closed the trading floor and signaled the start to the New York Boat Show’s busy selling weekend while ushering in boat show season around the country.

While the markets were down, initial reports from exhibitors were that boat sales were up at the show as crowds filled the Javits Center.

This year’s New York Boat Show marked its 111th year and featured more than 325 exhibitors displaying hundreds of boats and cutting edge technologies for sale. NMMA's Nashville Boat and Sportshow also took place last week. Next week, NMMA will kick off its Atlanta and Chicago shows. For a complete list of boat shows visit boatshow.com
