Expanded Baltimore Show Anchors Today, Expected to Buoy Sales
The 2015 Progressive Insurance Baltimore Boat Show opens today and runs through Sunday, February 1, offering visitors more to see and shop as demand from the industry in the region increased, allowing the show to expand 20 percent to accommodate more boat brands and models, accessory booths and new education for visitors, along with a fresh crop of exhibitors.
“This is our debut," said Brian Conner, owner of Rhode River Boat Sales and Rhode River Marina in Edgewater, and new boat show exhibitor. He hopes the show will launch him once again into the boat sales business, which he has shifted in and out of more than once in the last 30 years with rising and falling economic tides – excerpted from the feature story in Tuesday’s Business front page of the Baltimore Sun (Bigger Baltimore Boat Show Reflects Rosy Industry Outlook).
“With the passion for recreational boating continuing to grow in Maryland, we’re excited to expand the Progressive Insurance Baltimore Boat Show and provide the industry access to thousands of boaters and families who are in the market to make a purchase towards their boating lifestyle this winter,” said Tara Davis, show manager.
More than 275 boats will be on display, over 180,000 square feet of the Baltimore Convention Center, in addition to features aimed to attract qualified buyers, like the Progressive Boat School and “Women at the Wheel” seminars.
