Springfield Marine's founder and chairman has passed away at the age of 84

Garnett Carnahan, founder and chairman of Springfield Marine, died on Saturday at the age of 84.
 
Based in Nixa, Missouri, Springfield Marine has been producing seating products and other components for the marine industry since 1968. Products that Garnett invented are used in boats throughout the world.
 
Garnett took pride in his work as a manufacturer, inventor and real estate developer. He worked every day, including the day before he died, and was an entrepreneur in the truest sense of the word.  Well known in the marine industry worldwide, Garnett is credited as being one of the first Americans in the marine business to set up an equipment factory in China.
 

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Caroline Lee Carnahan, and 12 children
