NOAA’s ‘Get into Your Sanctuary’ Weekend Goes Virtual July 31-August 2

This year NOAA's Office of National Marine Sanctuaries is hosting its sixth national Get into Your Sanctuary celebration to raise awareness about the value of the nation’s marine sanctuaries as iconic destinations for responsible recreation and stewardship through a series of special activities. This year’s Get Into Your Sanctuary weekend is going virtual, and all are welcome to join July 31 to August 2. All of the events will be available through Facebook Live and Facebook Watch Party. Schedule highlights:
  • Learn the tips and tricks to sustainable fish in Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary.
  • Take an ocean safari beyond the Golden Gate Bridge to see the diverse marine wildlife including humpback whales, sea lions, dolphins, and sharks that live in Greater Farallones National Marine Sanctuary.
  • Learn about the fishing and diving opportunities available in Gray’s Reef National Marine Sanctuary off of Georgia’s coast.
  • Explore some of the best-preserved and most accessible shipwrecks in the world in Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary and learn how you can responsibly recreate among them.
