SureShade Joined by Congressman Brendan Boyle and State and Local Officials for Opening of Their New Facility

Earlier this month, SureShade welcomed Congressman Brendan Boyle, State Representatives Michael Driscoll and Joe Hohenstein, and local officials at the opening of its new 11,000 square-foot facility. Twenty-five students from the Mast Community Charter School also joined the formal ribbon cutting ceremony, which coincided with Manufacturing Day – an annual event to celebrate American manufacturing and an important advocacy opportunity for industry stakeholders to invite elected officials to their businesses.

“We were so thrilled to have everyone join us to celebrate this amazing milestone for our 12-year-old manufacturing startup, especially on Manufacturing Day,” said Dana Russikoff, SureShade business leader and co-founder. “When we first started this business, we were focused on the marine industry, but boating is just one part of the overall $778 billion outdoor recreational ecosystem that is a major contributor to the U.S. economy, accounting for 2.2 percent of the U.S. GDP and creating 5.2 billion jobs. As we have officially expanded into the $114 billion RV industry this year, we are thrilled to now be part of this comprehensive outdoor recreation industry that will position our company for continued and sustainable growth.”

Outdoor recreation in Pennsylvania accounts for nearly two percent of the state’s GDP, generating more than $13 billion in gross economic output and employing 173,000 Americans.
