Sailboat Sales Trends Section of 2017 Statistical Abstract Now Available

The second section of NMMA’s 2017 U.S. Recreational Boating Statistical Abstract, Sailboat Sales Trends report, is now available in the Statistics section of NMMA.org

The 2017 Sailboat Sales Trends report includes production and retail unit sales data; export unit sales by length; import unit sales by length; estimated retail sales; and, retail sales by length. Production and average prices information was provided by Cruising World and Sailing World magazines of the Bonnier Corporation

Sailboat sales were down 11% from 2016, with declines across all categories except the 36 foot and larger segment, which was up 14.4%. Imports of sailboats into the U.S. were up 3.2% while exports rebounded in 2017 after six consecutive years of decline.

NMMA members receive unlimited complimentary access to the digital versions of each section of the Statistical Abstract as they become available, in addition to the full compilation report, which will be released in August. This report is the most comprehensive collection of industry data and a trusted source for recreational boating statistics.
