Regulatory Reform Roundtable and NAFTA Modernization Meeting April 10-11

The U.S. Small Business Administration Office of Advocacy is hosting small business roundtables in order to hear firsthand from small businesses facing regulatory burdens. NMMA members are encouraged to attend to let the Office of Advocacy know which federal agency regulations should be considered for reform or elimination.

The purpose of the Regulatory Reform Roundtables is to gain valuable insight into which specific federal regulatory burdens present the biggest barriers to small business growth. With these recommendations, the Office of Advocacy can better assist federal agencies in complying with President Trump’s directives to reduce burdensome regulations. Additionally, information compiled from this roundtable and others will help the Office of Advocacy generate a new report informing Congress and the public of the top regulatory issues for small businesses.

The Office of Advocacy is writing a report for Congress on the views of small business on the potential economic effects of a renegotiated NAFTA. In order for this outreach effort to be successful, they need small business participation. This will be an opportunity for small business leaders to educate the Office of Advocacy and federal agencies through first-hand accounts of how they have been impacted by NAFTA.
