Industry Sales by Category and State Now Available from 2016 NMMA Statistical Abstract

The seventh section of NMMA's 2016 U.S. Recreational Boating Statistical Abstract is now available on NMMA.orgIndustry Sales by Category and State 2004 – 2016. Data shows total recreational marine expenditures reached a high of $36 billion in 2016, up 3.2 percent from 2015; spending on new boats accounted for $9 billion of the total and was up 7.6 percent from 2015, while spending on pre-owned boats was estimated at $9.2 billion in 2016, up two percent from 2015. NMMA is releasing each section of the Statistical Abstract as statistics become available to make this critical industry data more timely and valuable. The final remaining section of the 2016 Statistical Abstract – Boat Registrations – is expected to be released later this month, followed by the release of the complete Abstract in August.
