Partners Outdoors 2017 Delivers Action Packed Schedule Leading into Great Outdoors Month

NMMA attended Partners Outdoors 2017 May 31-June 1, kicking off Great Outdoors Month with other members of the outdoor recreation community. This year’s theme, “The Exciting Future of Recreation,” joined the public and private sectors to showcase innovative ideas and provide the opportunity to meet with leaders in the new Administration, recreation and tourism industries to discuss core issues, challenges and solutions.

Day one featured RECx – presentations formatted as TED-like talks focused on sharing new ‘great ideas’ or success stories that stemmed from innovation – which included a broad range of topics from technology to public private partnerships. Each presentation can be viewed here. Day two highlights included a special video message from Department of the Interior Secretary Zinke on his vision for America’s public lands and waterways, followed by an interactive discussion with key Interior officials on President Trump’s Great Outdoors Month proclamation.

Partners Outdoors 2017 was coordinated by the American Recreation Coalition, Federal Recreation Coalition and National Association of State Park Directors. For a more detailed look at the program’s speakers, activities and topics, see here.
