NMMA Testifies at EPA Hearing on the 2017 Ethanol Mandates

Last week, NMMA’s Michael Lewan testified at the EPA’s public hearing on its proposed increase to the 2017 Renewable Volume Obligations (RVO) as part of the Renewable Fuel Standard. He argued that the EPA must lower the proposal to ensure that the boating public remains safe on the water and continues to enjoy access to approved fuel blends. This was the only public hearing on the proposal, allowing stakeholders to address the EPA directly—an important forum for NMMA to voice the industry’s concerns.

In addition to testifying, NMMA will be submitting formal written comments to the agency in advance of the July 11th public deadline. We encourage all concerned industry stakeholders to participate in this public comment period via Boating United. Please contact Michael Lewan at [email protected] if you have any questions about the EPA proposal or have questions about submitting comments via Boating United or other methods.
