One of NMMA’s state government lobbyists recently met with legislators in Harrisburg, PA to support S.B. 1168, a bill that would allow the state Fish and Boat Commission to set fees for boat registration and titling, and fishing licenses.  The American Sportfishing Association also supports the bill. Fees currently are set by the legislature. Bills introduced to set fees at levels needed to maintain service levels have not passed the legislature in recent years. The commission’s fee-setting authority would expire in three years, allowing the legislature an opportunity to review its impact.
