Louisiana to allow PWC on WMAs
The Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission recently ruled to allow personal watercraft (PWC) access on wildlife management areas (WMAs) within the state. Previously PWC were only allowed on a handful of WMAs, this ruling will open all other WMAs without safety concerns to PWC use. During the open comment period for this issue the Department Wildlife and Fisheries received only positive letters supporting the allowance of PWC access. A thirty day period for legislative comment and oversight will now begin and NMMA staff will continue to monitor the issue. For more information please contact Libby Yranski, [email protected].
