NMMA participated as part of an expert panel on “Cuba: Separating Fact from Fantasy About the Forbidden Island Nation” at the USSA’s 3rd annual Superyacht Summit, held last week in Fort Lauderdale.

To an audience of more than 150 superyacht professionals, Julie Balzano, NMMA Export Development Director, shared the findings of the association’s three NMMA led Fact Finding trips to the island while discussing the latest updates on the normalization of US-Cuba Trade relations. Balzano spoke on summit panel along with Lisa Greenberg from Pacific Bound Yachts who addressed updated procedures about Cuba boat travel and Laura Sherrod of Atlass Special Risks who discussed insurance concerns and accessibility.  This summit reiterated NMMA’s identification of Cuba as a potential future emerging market and the three People to People licensed trips helped to educate a number of NMMA members to develop future sound strategies based on fact.
