Court rules in favor of NMMA and Miami Boat Show, dismisses Key Biscayne lawsuit

On Wednesday, the Miami-Dade County Circuit Court dismissed a lawsuit filed by the Village of Key Biscayne against NMMA. The lawsuit attempted to block the Miami International Boat Show, demanding that NMMA provide its records related to a license agreement between NMMA and the city of Miami. The judge noted that "since the Village does not show that NMMA is the city's agent, and thus subject to Florida Public Records Act, the [NMMA's] motion [to dismiss] is granted."

NMMA President, Thom Dammrich, noted that, "We are pleased that the court agreed with the NMMA and dismissed the Village of Key Biscayne's lawsuit. The court rejected eachof the arguments advanced by the village. The NMMA plans to continue continue its preparations and we look forward to celebrating the 2016 Miami International Boat Show at Miami Marine Stadium Park and Basin."
