California Yacht Brokers Association and National Marine Manufacturers Association Team Up on Southern California Boat Shows
CHICAGO – December 6, 2012 – The National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) announced today a new relationship with the California Yacht Brokers Association (CYBA) to create a stronger boating market throughout California while building a more cohesive voice for recreational boating on the West Coast. The relationship connects CYBA with NMMA’s resources spanning marketing communications, government relations advocacy, market research and statistics and enhances NMMA’s efforts to reignite recreational boating on the West Coast with exclusive support from CYBA and its members for NMMA boat shows in California.
“Off the heels of the Southern California Marine Association integration, we’re thrilled to continue fostering meaningful relationships in California with an organization like CYBA that allows our industry to unite in expanding the market for boating. By joining resources with CYBA, we’re creating synergies that we’re confident will reveal new opportunities to grow the industry in California,” stated Thom Dammrich, NMMA president.
To kick-off the partnership, NMMA, with the support of CYBA, is launching a new in-water location in Marina del Rey featuring yacht and brokerage boats that will be part of the 2013 Progressive Insurance Los Angeles Boat Show. The new site will fill a void for the show and in the market, showcasing new and brokerage power and sailboats 34’ and larger from the state’s leading new boat dealers and yacht brokers – making the show Southern California’s largest.
“We’re excited to align ourselves with NMMA, one of the most influential organizations in the industry. Through NMMA’s robust resources, our mission to help grow boating in the California community will be enhanced,” said Tom Trainor, CYBA Board of Directors president. “The timing couldn’t be better as we prepare for the 2013 winter boat show season as it gives us an opportunity to work with NMMA to build a successful new in-water yacht and brokerage addition at the Progressive Insurance Los Angeles Boat Show.”
CYBA will also support NMMA’s other boat shows in California including the San Diego Yacht & Boat Show and Strictly Sail Long Beach. The 2013 San Diego Yacht & Boat Show is scheduled for June 20-23, and Strictly Sail Long Beach for October 24-27.
