NOAA Seeks Advisory Council Applicants for National Marine Sanctuaries

NOAA's Office of National Marine Sanctuaries is seeking advisory council applicants for eight of its National Marine Sanctuaries. These are community - based groups whose insight guides management decisions and community relations for each sanctuary site. Candidates are selected based on expertise and experience in relation to the particular role for which they are applying, as well as relevant community or professional affiliations. The eight national marine sanctuaries in need of council members are: Northwestern Hawaiian Islands Coral Reef Ecosystem Reserve, Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary, Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary, National Marine Sanctuary of American Samoa, Greater Farallones National Marine Sanctuary, Gray’s Reef National Marine Sanctuary, Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary, and Monitor National Marine Sanctuary.

Applicants chosen as members or alternates should expect to serve two or three-year terms, pursuant to the charter of the specific national marine sanctuary advisory council.
