NMMA’s ‘Day on the Water’ event at Democratic National Convention starts today

NMMA’s ‘Day on the Water’ reception at the Democratic National Convention takes place today from 10:30am-1:30pm in Philadelphia. The event includes tours of boats from several NMMA members and rides along the Delaware River, and will give industry leaders an opportunity to discuss the critical Delaware River habitat and the overwhelming impact that recreational boat, engine and accessory manufacturing have on the U.S. economy. More than 150 attendees are expected and include delegates, Members of Congress and local boating businesses and non-profits dedicated to growing the boating industry.

“NMMA is thrilled to participate in the Democratic National Convention. During one of our most critical election years, we look forward to bringing legislators and attendees together to better understand the positive and critical economic impact the marine manufacturing industry has on the U.S. economy. In fact, in Pennsylvania, recreational boating creates more than 570 businesses and contributes $290.5 million to the local economy annually,” says NMMA President Thom Dammrich. “While we have important information to showcase, we also look forward to giving attendees the chance to enjoy the classic American pastime of spending time on the water.”

Participants include Correct Craft, Freedom Boat Club, HydroHoist, MarineMax, Regulator, SureShade and Yamaha. Non-profits attending include Youth Anglers, Philadelphia Wooden Boat Factory, and Delaware River City Cooperation.
