Register Today! CARB Hosts Boat Builder Evaporative Emission Certification Webinars

Starting in model year 2018, boat builders with installed gasoline fuel tanks that sell or offer to sell their boats in California will need to meet stringent new evaporative emission regulations. Similar to the EPA rule, boat builders will be able to install CARB certified evaporative components (low permeation fuel line, low permeation fuel tank, and diurnal vent control i.e. PRV or canister) Dissimilar to the EPA rule, boat builders will be required to take an addition step and certify and receive an Executive Order prior to selling or offering a boat for sale in California.

How does a boat builder receive an Executive Order?
To learn exactly what you need to do to receive an Executive Order, NMMA and the California Air Resource Board are hosting two training Webinars. The first Webinar will be on April 27 and the second on May 4.

Again California law requires that all boat builders with installed gasoline tanks receive an Executive Order prior to selling or offering a boat for sale. Failure to comply with the law can result in serious penalties and prohibitions against future sales. NMMA and CARB’s goal is that all boat builders know exactly what they need to do to meet this new requirement. Don’t miss out on this important opportunity to learn what you need to know to comply.
