Discover Boating hosted Summer Boat Camp for national media in Hampton Bays, NY at Hampton Watercraft & Marine last week. National media from SELF, Women’s Health, Complex Magazine and two producers from the Today Show attended the all-day boating camp.

 

Discover Boating’s Summer Boat Camp was created to offer national media a chance to experience different boating activities and spur on-water story ideas. Boating activities included wakeboarding, wakesurfing, fishing and cruising. Josh Palma, a pro wakeboarder, gave media a wakeboarding demo, followed by one-on-one wakesurfing lessons, where all media got up on the board. All media had a great time, so much that the group stayed an extra hour on the water. Many took to their social channels posting pictures of their experience and left the event with a newfound appreciation for the boating lifestyle. As a result of these new media relationships, Discover Boating will work with each outlet to identify story opportunities.
