New Powerboat Registrations Up 3.8 Percent through February

According to NMMA’s New Powerboat Registrations Report, preliminary data shows new powerboat registrations were up 3.8 percent through February on a rolling 12-month year-over-year (R12M YOY) basis.

Tow boats, personal watercraft and pontoons boats were growth leaders with respective sales up 9.9 percent, 8.7 percent and 4.1 percent R12M YOY through February, and accounted for approximately 50 percent of new powerboat unit sales. Sales of larger boats 27’ and greater were up 5.9 percent R12M YOY.

While sales were down 4.8 percent for the three months through February compared to the same time frame a year ago, those are typically low-volume sales months representing just 11 percent of annual sales on average.
