NMMA Kicks Off Release of 2016 Statistical Abstract with Outboard Engine Sales Trends Report

This year, NMMA is again releasing its U.S. Recreational Boating Statistical Abstract by section as statistics become available, making this critical industry data much more timely and valuable for members.  Sections of the 2016 Statistical Abstract will be released beginning this month, with the first being the Outboard Engine Sales Trends report, available now on the new, easier-to-navigate statistics section of NMMA.org.

The Outboard Engine Sales Trends report examines outboard engine retail sales, which hit a post-recession high, jumping seven percent from 2015—a trend likely to continue in this segment as economic conditions continue to work in the industry’s favor in 2017.

NMMA members receive unlimited complimentary access to the digital versions of each section of the Statistical Abstract as they become available, in addition to the full compilation report, which will be released in August of this year. Members are highly encouraged to use the Abstract. This report is the most comprehensive collection of industry data and a trusted source for recreational boating statistics. NMMA is constantly improving the timeliness of its data and by releasing the Abstract in sections, as key statistics are available, timelier and valuable insights are provided to members across all industry segments.

The release schedule for the 2016 Recreational Boating Statistical Abstract is:

  • March: Outboard Engine Sales Trends; Sailboat Sales Trends
  • April: Pre-owned Boat Market; International Exports/Imports
  • May: Powerboat Sales Trends; Cruiser, Watersport, and Off-shore Fishing Boat Sales Trends
