NAM's Manufacturing Institute Announces 2017 Women in Manufacturing STEP Ahead Award Honorees

The NAM’s Manufacturing Institute announced the 130 women who are being recognized with the Women in Manufacturing STEP (Science, Technology, Engineering and Production) Ahead Award. This year’s winners included Kris Carroll, President, Grady-White Boats, Inc; Jan Morton, Vice President of supply chain for Brunswick Boat Group; Katelyn Vara, Project Engineer of Mercury Marine; and Marcea Weiss, Plant Operation Manager of Mercury Marine.
 
Past marine-industry winners of the award have included Marcia Kull,  Lori Melbostad, Ann Baldree and Joan Maxwell. Women in the marine industry continue to make waves and are being recognized on their significant impact, leadership and success.
 
The recipients of the STEP Ahead Awards will be honored at a gala in Washington, D.C. on April 20.  The STEP Ahead Awards program will highlight each honoree’s story, including their leadership and accomplishments in manufacturing. The STEP Ahead Awards honor women who have demonstrated excellence and leadership in their careers and represent all levels of the manufacturing industry, from the factory-floor to the C suite.
