Nominations for 2017 STEP ahead awards now open
The STEP (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Production) Ahead initiative was designed to showcase the impact of women in manufacturing to help attract and retain the talent needed in the industry. This national honor identifies the best of the best women in manufacturing, and further encourages women to mentor and support the next generation of female talent to pursue manufacturing careers. This year, the STEP Ahead theme will focus on impact – how the STEP army of 500+ women are making a difference in their companies and communities.
During last two years alone, the STEP Ahead Awards have honored top women in marine manufacturing including Marcia Kull, Volvo Penta of the Americas; Lori Melbostad, Premier Marine, Inc.; Ann Baldree, Chaparral and Robalo Boats; and Joan Maxwell, Regulator Marine, Inc.
In 2017, the Institute will honor 100 women and 30 Emerging Leaders, a category introduced to honor women under the age of 30 who have achieved unique accomplishments at the start of their careers.
