NMMA Submits Comments on Proposed Ethanol Increase

This week NMMA submitted its formal comments in response to the EPA’s proposal to increase the ethanol volume requirements for 2017. In the comments, NMMA called on the EPA to reduce its proposal to better account for the market demand of ethanol-free gasoline, while also including better protection against accidental E15 misfueling. Earlier this summer, NMMA presented similar arguments a public hearing in Kansas City.

Additionally, through Boating United more than 2,500 comments were submitted by industry advocates calling on the EPA to lower the proposed mandate. The EPA will now review all submitted comments and is expected to issue a final rule by the end of the year. For more information, please contact Michael Lewan at [email protected].
