Trump Administration Announces New Section 301 Tariffs on $300 Billion in Chinese Goods
On Monday, the United States Trade Representative (USTR) posted a Federal Register notice announcing the process for its proposed Section 301 tariff of 25 percent on an additional $300 billion worth of Chinese products (List 4). USTR’s action follows a recent setback in trade negotiations between the U.S. and China and would apply a 25 percent tariff on all remaining Chinese imports that were not contained in the first three lists of Section 301 tariffs.

USTR will hold a public hearing on its most recent round of Section 301 tariffs on Monday, June 17, 2019 in Washington, D.C. – the deadline for submitting a request to appear is Monday, June 10, 2019. Additionally, USTR is accepting written comments until Monday, June 17.
