ICOMIA Honors IMCI for Outstanding Contribution to the International Council of Marine Industry Associations
The International Council of Marine Industry Association (ICOMIA) honors the International Marine Certification Institute (IMCI) on its 25th anniversary for outstanding contributions to the ICOMIA.
The IMCI, which was registered in Belgium as an international non-profit organization in June 1993, has been an active ICOMIA member since 2000 contributing to several committees. IMCI CEO, Ulrich Heinemann, has chaired the ICOMIA Technical Committee since 2009.
IMCI has developed several certification programs to support the marine industry including:

- ABYC Certified Component Program
- NMMA Certification Program
- World Sailing Certification Program
- Certification of Experts
- Certification of Companies and Retailers
- Certification of Marinas – Blue Star Marinas
