Boating Writers International’s (BWI’s) Annual Writing & Imaging Contest is celebrating its 26th year with16 categories offering $16,000 in prize awards. Last year's contest attracted 126 participants submitting 277 entries. The competition reflects the millions of impressions the boating journalism community delivers to boating consumers via print, video and broadcast channels and social media. This year’s categories include “Boating Lifestyles,” sponsored by Grow Boating, and those recently added or updated including “Boating Videos,” “Boating Photography,” and “Environmental Awareness & Education,” and “Gear, Electronics & Product Tests.” The contest recognizes the best marine writing and imaging in the world and presents cash awards to first- ($500), second- ($300) and third-place ($200) scorers. Presentation of awards will be made at the Progressive Insurance Miami International Boat Show during the BWI Annual Meeting in February 2019.
