New Powerboat Registrations Up in First Quarter
In the first quarter of 2016, new registrations of traditional powerboats and personal watercraft were up 10.5% YOY. Nearly all categories with significant volume posted quarterly gains. On a rolling twelve month basis, corresponding units were up 8.7%.
Among high-volume regions, growth was led by the East South region, which includes Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi, and Tennessee, up 11.6% R12M YOY; and, the South Atlantic region, which spans the Atlantic Coast from Delaware south to Florida, up 9.2% R12M YOY.
