Federal Relations

NMMA Government Relations (GR) leads the recreational boating industry’s advocacy efforts, and maintains one of the most effective lobbying efforts in the nation.

NMMA GR office keeps watch on existing and pending legislation, and analyzes hundreds of bills with the potential to impact our members. The department monitors the Congressional calendar, committee meetings and floor activity for legislative issue of interest to recreational boating.

NMMA GR is also an information resource for Members of Congress and their staff, committed to educating decision makers about issues of concern to the boating industry.

NMMA’s commitment to keeping members informed about regulatory and legislative issues is an important member benefit that gives them the information they need to work with elected officials. It also enables GR to leverage the strength of numbers, i.e. its membership, on behalf of the industry.
