Recreational boating helps keep many state and local economies afloat. Now more than ever, it is important to learn about boating’s impact on our society and its important economic value. This year during the Democratic National Convention and the Republican National Convention, the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) will be hosting informational and educational events including boating excursions, product demos, booth displays and more. There will be several manufacturer representatives and industry experts on hand to demonstrate technological, environmental and safety advancements and speak to economic and political topics impacting the recreational boating industry. SAVE THE DATES:RNC Event: DNC Event: Recreational boating is a uniquely American manufacturing industry with 83% of boats sold in the U.S. manufactured in the U.S. and an important contributor to the U.S. economy with a $72 billion annual economic impact. Recreational boating is also a net exporter for the U.S.: in 2011 boat exports were up 44 percent above the 16-year average of $1.2 billion. Come out and enjoy being on the water, experience boat demonstrations, learn about the recreational boating industry and meet with industry leaders for an educational afternoon.
