Minnesota DNR Seeking Applications for Game and Fish Fund Oversight Committee

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is seeking applications from Minnesota residents to serve two-year terms on the Game and Fish Fund Oversight Committee. The Game and Fish Fund has two oversight committees – the Fisheries Oversight Committee (FOC) and the Wildlife Oversight Committee (WOC). Applications must be submitted online by Monday, September 20.

The Game and Fish Fund contains revenue from hunting and fishing license sales, a sales tax on lottery tickets, sales of critical habitat license plates and other sources of revenue – including a reimbursement based on the federal excise tax on certain hunting, fishing, and boating equipment. The committees are important opportunities to monitor proper expenditure of funds received from the revenue sources.

In order to apply, applicants must be a Minnesota resident and have purchased a personal or commercial Minnesota license for hunting, fishing, or trapping since January 1, 2020, or licensed their vehicle with an active critical habitat license plate. Applications are due by Monday, September 20. Additional information about committees and applications can be found here.
